PITTSBURGH (-14) vs. CAROLINA
What a bummer of a game. This has Steelers blowout written all over it. I guess you could argue that Carolina getting 14 points will simply keep the clock running and try to end the misery asap. But that's not really a great handicapping principle. Nope, there really aren't any good reasons to pick the Panthers tonight. I know they've been playing hard, but they'll be overmatched physically and are travelling during a very short week. Plus, Carolina simply does not have the weapons to threaten the Steeler defense, even without Head-n-Shoulders. Pittsburgh takes control early puts a beatdown on the Panthers, boring but efficient.

It's slim pickings for the tackle props tonight, and... they set a poor number on Beason.

J.Harrison solo+assisted tackles un 6½ +110: Obviously, Harrison is a beast, but this is not the type of game he shines in. He needs some chaos. Carolina figures to run the ball a zillion times tonight (they're not capable of anything else) and Pittsburgh will have the box packed, which gives Harrison more competition for tackles. Carolina only allows 46 tackle opportunities/game (one of the lowest in the league) and it's all about opportunity.

Jon Beason over/under 6.5 tackles is a tough one. Beason projects out tonight around 11 tackles, but the line has moved to Over -160. That's too risky, IMO. What about the Under +130? That's really a gamble that Beason gets injured, if he stays on the field he'll stumble into 7 tackles tonight. Check back before kickoff and see if the line has moved (sometimes it only takes a few big bets) back to -120, where it's playble. IF you got to have action, pay the price and take over 6.5
